Rare footage from the ’70s. Short S-25 Sandringham flying boats are flying around Sydney harbour and Lord Howe Island.

At about 7:30 you can see the two flying boats together, ‘Islander’ and ‘Beachcomber (at anchor). ‘Beachomber’ is VH-BRC and she is on view at the Hall of Aviation in Southampton England. You can climb onboard, explore the passenger cabins, climb the internal staircase to the upper deck (passing the tiny galley) and on some days you are allowed up into the cockpit. It is well worth a visit.
