Hungarian company as a suppliers of structural composite assemblies for the ICON A5 Light Sport Aircraft. The first one delivery are scheduled to begin fall 2011.

In conjunction with the 2004 creation of Light Sport Aircraft category, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) created the Sport Pilot License. As a result, the time and cost commitment to learn to fly are now half what they previously were.

ICON was founded in 2005 by Kirk Hawkins. Hawkins, a graduate from the Stanford Business School, is an accomplished engineer, former U.S. Air Force F-16 pilot. Earlier we have an article about ICON.

The commertional version was finished by last year. Kirk was the first pilot.

Last summer Icon A5 was showed in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

July 2010 following a rigorous and comprehensive global supply chain analysis, ICON Aircraft has selected Liberty Aerospace of Melbourne, FL, and Flytech Kft. of Szombathely, Hungary, as our suppliers of structural composite assemblies for the ICON A5 Light Sport Aircraft.

Hungarian company is one of suppliers of structural composite assemblies for German and Austrian aircraft factorys, for example Diamond Aircraft.

On ICON hompage is fixed prise 135.000 USD the first 100 purchaser, deposit is 100.000 USD. Deliveries are scheduled to begin fall 2011.
